Abstract: Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid-state joining process that has proven effective for polymeric materials, offering high-quality welds while minimizing thermal degradation. Among its variations, Bobbin Tool Friction Stir Welding (BT-FSW) presents advantages such as symmetrical heat distribution and reduced tool forces, making it particularly suitable for polymers. This study focuses on the numerical simulation of the parametric analysis of BT-FSW applied to high-density polymeric materials. Using finite element and computational fluid dynamics approaches, the research captures the complex thermo-mechanical interactions involved in the process. The developed model is validated through experimental comparisons to ensure accuracy in predicting temperature distribution, material flow, and weld integrity. The findings contribute to a better understanding of BT-FSW mechanisms in polymers, aiding in process optimization and expanding its industrial applications.
